At Lankara Island Travels, we deliberately focus on three regions we have visited extensively ourselves and whose logistics, culture, and nuances we thoroughly understand: Java, Sulawesi, and the Banggai Islands. This focus allows us to curate trips that are substantively sound and realistically structured.

The examples below serve as inspiration. Every tailor-made tour of Indonesia is fully adapted to your travel period, desired pace, and comfort level. No standard program, but a carefully designed itinerary that fits your expectations. Our Indonesia tours start on average from €1,200 per person, depending on the chosen region and itinerary.

This amount is generally based on a trip duration of approximately 12 to 16 days.

Many of our tours are designed for two weeks, but three weeks or longer is certainly possible as well.

The final investment depends on the season, the total duration of the trip, the number of domestic trips, and the chosen accommodations.

Java Spirit - Volcanoes, Waterfalls, temples and hidden nature

Java is the cultural and historical heart of Indonesia. This island combines religious monuments, colonial influences, and vast volcanic landscapes in a way that feels intense, yet at the same time cohesive.

A carefully constructed trip to Java often begins in Yogyakarta, where the Sultanate and vibrant traditions make the island's cultural character tangible. In the early morning, an almost serene atmosphere hangs over Borobudur, while Prambanan impressively showcases Java's Hindu history.

From Yogyakarta, the landscape shifts eastward, where Malang forms a tranquil link toward the volcanic region. Here, the pace of the journey changes. Mount Bromo is known for its vast sand plains and crater landscape, but only with the right timing and guidance does this experience truly come into its own. Ijen demands physical effort but rewards with a pure and powerful nature experience.

Not far from Malang lies Tumpak Sewu, one of the most extraordinary waterfalls in Indonesia. The semicircular cliff where dozens of streams converge forms an impressive and harmonious whole. We have visited this place ourselves and know how important it is to structure the route logically, so that adventure and tranquility are kept in balance.



Java is suitable for travelers who want to combine culture, nature, and active experiences without disrupting the travel rhythm.

Banggai – Lagoons, silence and pure island life

The Banggai Islands are among the most pristine regions of Indonesia. As soon as you arrive here, the pace changes. No crowds, no mass tourism, just sea, nature, and simplicity.

Turquoise lagoons, limestone formations, and resort-free beaches define the landscape. Life here feels unhurried and genuine.

Even our eight-year-old son thoroughly enjoyed himself here. For children, this is one big discovery; for adults, a rare moment of slowing down. Banggai is not a classic luxury destination, but pure and authentic.

For those open to simplicity and nature, this part of the journey can become the most memorable.

Sulawesi – rituals and rugged landscapes

Sulawesi feels immediately different. Less predictable, culturally more complex, and scenically diverse.

In Tana Toraja, tradition takes center stage. The characteristic houses, mountain landscapes, and ceremonies offer insight into a culture that is still alive. In the north, around Manado, the focus shifts to biodiversity, volcanic nature, and an underwater world that ranks among the richest in Indonesia.



Sulawesi requires patience in planning and openness from the traveler. We ensure that logistics, comfort, and cultural context remain in balance.
