Disaster Relief Fund - Security in exceptional circumstances
At Lankara Island Travels, we believe it is important that you travel with peace of mind. That is why we are affiliated with the Calamity Fund. This means that as a traveler, you can count on extra security should your trip be affected by a calamity.

What does this mean for you?
The Calamity Fund offers protection when your trip cannot be carried out (fully) due to a calamity, such as a natural disaster or other serious and unexpected situation at the destination. In that case, the Calamity Fund ensures that you:
- assistance is being provided on site
- or get (part of) your travel costs back
When does this regulation apply?
The Calamity Fund guarantee applies only when:
your trip is covered by the fund
and the calamity is officially recognized by the Calamity Fund
Public contribution
A small mandatory contribution per booking is charged for this guarantee. This contribution is remitted to the Calamity Fund and enables participation in the scheme.
Official regulation
Lankara Island Travels is affiliated with the Calamities Fund for Travel. Within the limits of the Calamities Fund's guarantee scheme, the trips published by Lankara Island Travels in the travel program are covered by the Calamities Fund. This guarantee means that you, as a traveler participating in a trip organized by us:
- receive (part of) your travel sum back if we are unable to carry out the trip, or unable to carry it out in full, due to a calamity
- you will be reimbursed for necessary additional costs if we have to adjust the trip due to a calamity or if you have to return early
A calamity is understood to mean an abnormal event caused by civil unrest or a natural disaster.
